Exploring the Power of Dowsing for Essential Oils

Have you ever heard of dowsing for essential oils? It’s an ancient practice that has been used for centuries to help people find what they need. Today, this powerful method is being used more and more in aromatherapy and holistic health circles. In this blog post, we'll touch upon what dowsing is and how to use it to find the right type of essential oil for your needs.

What Is Dowsing?

Dowsing is a method of divination that uses a pendulum or other device to answer questions and make decisions. The practitioner holds the pendulum over a marked area or chart that contains all possible answers, allowing it to be guided by subtle energies and vibrations in order to determine an answer. Traditionally, dowsers have used tools such as L-rods or Y-rods, but today many people prefer using a pendulum since it is easier to work with and can be done anywhere. When using it with aromatherapy, have the oils that you want to select from in front of you so that it can pick up the energies from the oils.

Using Dowsing for Essential Oils

Essential oils are powerful substances with healing properties, so it makes sense to use dowsing when selecting the right one for your needs. There are two ways on how you can do this. One way is by using a chart. Start by writing down on paper all the different essential oils you are considering. Then, hold the pendulum over each one in turn while asking yourself a question about its energy or vibration (e.g., “Does this oil align with my intentions?”). When finished, take note of which oils had positive responses from the pendulum and which ones didn't—this will help you narrow down your selection process.

The second way is having the essential oils, or carrier oils that you want the pendulum to select from in front of you, guiding the pendulum over the oils quickly, then asking it your question (e.g., “Which of these oils align with my intentions?”) and watch as the pendulum moves in the direction of the oil. You can then confirm and continue to ask more questions.

Don't forget to always thank your pendulum after using it!

Another way to dowse for essential oil selection is by using muscle testing. With this technique, you ask yourself questions while using your hand muscles to respond (e.g., “When I hold this bottle of lavender oil in my left hand…does it feel good?”). Again, take note of which oils get a positive response from your body so you can make an informed decision about which oils best fit your needs.

By utilizing either a pendulum or muscle testing techniques, you can get clear guidance on which type of oil will work best for your particular situation or need. Whether you're new to aromatherapy or looking for ways to enhance your existing practice, dowsing can be an incredibly helpful tool when selecting the right kind of oil! Practice with your pendulum, have fun with it and trust the process. Give it a try today!
