SHOW NOTES

What You’ll Learn

In this episode, Nikki goes over 3 questions that Essentria received in an email, and myths that have been floating around on the internet for a bit.

The first question was whether using Essential oils can release volatile organic compounds (VOC) and change the air quality.

Nikki shares

  • What VOC really means

  • How to diffuse essential oils safely, not diffusing for hours on end

  • What could happen when diffusing for too long

  • What is being diffused matters

The second question was if essential oils can harm the skin barrier

Nikki goes over:

  • The importance of diluting essential oils when applying topically

  • Carrier oils have their own therapeutic benefits, and essential oils are always needed

  • Hydrosols are great options to use

  • Some essential oils have max dilutions and it is important to not apply them topically over the maximum recommendation

  • Some essential oils are prone to sensitization and should be used cautiously

The third question was regarding the sustainability of essential oils and if they should be used.

Nikki goes over:
